How it all began…
Byron Bay, March 2015. It’s a beautiful, sun-drenched day, and we’re driving through the hinterland in Mel’s {our now Brand Director, then budding photographer/blogger who we were about to employ...} trusty ’95 Camry to pick up the iconic, effortlessly cool, and down-to-earth Rocky Barnes. Back then, spontaneous, collaborative shoots with fellow creatives were what we lived for. Those early blogger meet-ups were often where the magic happened ~ and this one was just the beginning.
Since that day, it’s been a love affair. Rocky has been part of so many of our brand milestones: she wore our very first swim collection, celebrated our first LA pop-up, and fronted our debut activewear campaign. She’s travelled the world with us ~ from Cuba to Italy, Hawaii, LA, and Arizona ~ embodying the Spell spirit every step of the way. She’s walked the green carpet at Coachella in Spell, styled our pieces through the seasons, and worn them throughout her pregnancies as her family grew.
Now, our story continues with Rocky Barnes for Spell ~ Paradise Found. A collection that captures everything we’ve always adored about her style. Full of colour and contrast, matcha-sage hues and earthy browns and charcoals, layered textures and unexpected pairings, with poppy signature prints that feel both nostalgic and new. It’s fun, flirty, and effortlessly flattering ~ an ode to the kind of sun-dazed freedom that defined our first moments together.
