DIY Holiday Pom Pom Wreath ~ What you'll need:
- Wire coat hanger
- Recycled fabric {make use of that old dress you no longer use or hit up your local thrift store}
- Cardboard
- Scissors
Step 1: Cut the fabric into one inch wide strips.
Step 2: Cut two cardboard circles to your desired pom pom size.
Step 3: Place the two cardboard circles together and begin wrapping the fabric strips around and through the circles. Continue until the circles are thickly covered {tip: ensure the fabric is wrapped evenly to make the perfect full pom pom}.
Step 4: Carefully cut the fabric around the outer edge of the circles.
Step 5: Slide a seperate piece of fabric between the two cardboard circles and tie a tight knot around the wrapped fabric.
Step 6: Gently remove the cardboard circles and trim any excess fabric to create an even pom pom. Fluff and shape as you desire.
Step 7: Repeat steps one to six to create your desired amount of pom poms… We made 18! {tip: the amount of pom poms you need will depend on the size of your wreath}.
Step 8: Untwist your wire coat hanger and reshape it into a circle. This will be the base of your wreath.
Step 9: Using a thin piece of wire or string, attach your fabric pom poms to the coat hanger. You can tie them directly or secure them through the loops of the pom poms.
Step 10: Space the pom poms evenly around the wreath, covering the entire circumference and adjust the spacing/arrangement as needed to achieve a balanced look.
Step 11: Once you're satisfied with the arrangement, hang your fabric pom pom wreath using the hook of the coat hanger. Find a suitable place to display your festive creation.
Optional: Add extra decorations like ribbons, bows, or flowers for a more elaborate design.
